The Radon Scout by SARAD GmbH offers the highest sensitivity of its class and overcome the competitors. This is achieved by the low detection limit and statistical error of the Radon Scout. With the US-EPA certification and thousands of proven tests, the Radon Scout could be used to demonstrate the time distribution of Radon level even below 100Bq/m³. Therefore, meteorological influences, such as ventilation effects can be easily detected.
Due to the outstanding sensitivity, the Radon Scout is perfectly suitable for direct controlling of ventilation equipment by a potential-free switch contact. A wireless switch which can directly connect to the monitor can be requested. Thus, it would be very easy to control kitchen hoods, wall, or window ventilators anywhere in the house (It is possible to upgrade the older instruments). The switching threshold for the Radon Scout is fixed to the EU target value of 300Bq/m³ while the Radon Scout PLUS allows users to modify this value.
Two standard D-size cells enable autonomous operation of the Radon Scout over a few months. The Radon Scout PLUS offers an additional connection for an external power supply. In fact, this allows operation over infinite time periods.
The size of the data memory was designed to get a high-resolution time distribution. Any number of measurement series might be created. The acquired data can be loaded by a PC even if a measurement is in progress. The Radon Scout can directly connect to a modem (analog, ISDN, GSM) for remote data transmission. The Radon Vision software (included) handles the telephone connections as simple as a direct cable link.
The Radon Scout works in diffusion mode, so the possible influence of Thoron can be excluded.
The measurement chamber, equipped with a semiconductor detector and high voltage collection, shows no sensitivity against ambient humidity.
Sensors for temperature and humidity and barometric pressure in Radon Scout PLUS are very useful add-ons. The integrated tilt detector gives a signal if the Radon Scout moves from its original position during the measurement.
